Zeno
Vlamingstraat 53
8000 Brugge
A progressive young chef displays his culinary skills in this magnificent mansion with a patio in the heart of Bruges. Zeno, the main character in Marguerite Yourcenar‘s historical novel “Zeno of Bruges”, is a physician, alchemist and traveller born and raised in 16th century Bruges. His character represents the emergence of free thinking. His Europe-wide quest for enlightenment, through alchemy in particular, exceeded the constraints of the norms of the time. The house itself represents a quest for flavour, products and presentation that transform the ordinary into the extraordinary by an alchemy-like process.
