Thalys Train

Getting to Flanders is easy. Brussels is the heart of Europe and has many train connections. Big European cities like London, Paris, Amsterdam or Berlin are closeby.

The Belgian Rail Road
International train connections, information and reservations. 

Eurostar
The Eurostar train links London and Brussels in 1h51 minutes. Trains depart/arrive at the Brussels South Station (Bruxelles Midi/Brussel Zuid) and depart/arrive at the London St. Pancras International Terminal . Up to 9 daily departures. It also stops at Ashford/England. For the Eurostar train, you need to reserve your seat in advance, you can do it through: Rail Europe or the Belgian Rail Road or Eurostar

Thalys
The Thalys train links Paris and Brussels in 85 minutes. There are 25 Thalys trains departing daily in each direction between Paris and Brussels. Thalys roundtrip fares start at $96 (2nd class). Trains depart/arrive at the Brussels South Station (Bruxelles Midi/Brussel Zuid) and depart/arrive at the Paris North Station (Paris Nord) or at the Charles De Gaulle Airport. It also links Brussels to Koln and Amsterdam in 2h30 minutes. The Thalys train stops also at the following Belgian train stations:  Liege-Guillemins, Antwerp-Berchem, Mons, Charleroi-South, Namur, Bruges and Ghent-St-Pieters.

For the Thalys train, you need to reserve your tickets in advance: Rail Europe or the Belgian Rail Road or Thalys.  

 

Domestic Train Travel

B-Rail A dense train network connects all of Belgium. National and international passes are available at major train stations in Belgium. The B-rail website will give you timetables, price and online ticket for your train trip in Belgium.
 
Seat reservations are not available on Belgian trains (except for groups). Travel is valid only for dates shown on the ticket. First and 2nd class tickets are available.
Trains leave, on average, every 1/2 hour between all major Belgian cities. The first train leaves at approximately 5:00 am and the last one departs at approximately 11:00 pm. 

  • Coin-operated lockers as well as luggage service are available in major train stations.

  • Bicycles may be rented at major train stations, you can also travel with them on regular trains.

Belgian Rail System: Specials & Passes

  • Children's fare 12 years of age and under ride free during off peak travel (after 9:01 am). During peak travel children ride at a 50% discount off the normal ticket price. 

  • Senior Citizens (over 65) Seniors can purchase a roundtrip ticket for 4 Euro (Restrictions: weekdays before 9:00 am and weekends during public holidays). 
     
    Weekend Fares 50% off

  • Pass: Carte Train Reseau Unlimited rides for one week for 75 Euros. This pass can not be shared.

  • Belgian Rail Pass
    69 Euro for 10 trips inside Belgium (2nd class) . The pass can be shared by several passengers.

  • Go Pass 10 trips inside Belgium for 45 Euro available for youths under 26. The pass can be shared by several passengers.

  • B-Excursion The "all-in-one" formula of the Belgian Rail System: trains, visits, attractions, connections - reductions on everything with just one purchase.
