The Fries Museum or Frietmuseum in Bruges is the first and only museum dedicated to potato fries. Together with chocolate and beer, frites are probably the product that is most typically Belgian. So, don’t speak about “French fries” with a Belgian! Where does the potato come from? Was the fry invented in Belgium? What is the secret of making good fries? These are some of the questions that are answered at the Fries Museum. This educational museum is housed in the Saaihalle, one of the most beautiful buildings in Bruges. At the end of your tour, of course, you can try some tasty fries in the basement.
