Every three years Brussels organises a theme year. In 2012 gastronomy is thé topic. Take the Brussels food tramway. A tram will be converted into a restaurant. It will tour the streets of Brussels for two hours every evening- enough time to enjoy a quality meal and discover the capital. Taste a meal with a theme. Taste a roasted wild boar and guinea fowl in the courtyard of the Town Hall accompanied by a folkloric fair in the Grand-Place with bear trainers and minstrels. Or have a champagne, caviar and lobster dinner in the prestigious Art deco rooms of the Villa Empain.
Follow he taste magician. He will be roaming everywhere with just an electric heating plate, pulling utensils and accessories from his sleeves like a magican. He will buy his product where he is – from the market, producers or the shops – and concoct local dishes in a couple of minutes, like magic to be eaten on te move. A lot of other events will terrorise Brussels: tasty tours in art musea, Beer café rally (September), chocolate week (November).
